A bit about us.

Welcome to Tai Peng Roaster 大坪咖啡. We’re Michelle Kwok and Oscar Venhuis, the duo behind this microbatch coffee roaster in Tai Peng Village on Lamma Island, Hong Kong.

Michelle, who comes from Hong Kong, spent her formative years in England and graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in engineering. Oscar, on the other hand, was born in Seoul but grew up in Groningen, the Netherlands. He joined the Royal College of Art in London, and for the past decade, he has founded several ventures across Asia.

At Tai Peng Roaster, our international roots and different professional backgrounds reflect our approach to coffee. By combining engineering skills with creative flair, we source specialty coffee beans from every corner of the globe and roast them fresh here in Tai Peng Village.
